Forest Lighting, an American lighting products company and subsidiary of an international leader in LED lighting solutions for commercial and private purposes alike, has earlier this year announced the production of a brand new line of LED filament light bulbs, to be produced for a variety of industries and home making retailers as well.Filament LED bulbs, unlike the traditional LED bulb, are designed to visually emulate the classic look and light of an incandescent light bulb, while retaining its durability and technological superiority.
While incandescent lights function through use of a tungsten filament heated through electricity, LED lights utilize heatless electroluminescence to achieve light. In order to replicate the nostalgic feel of the Edison bulb while retaining energy efficiency and longevity, Forest Lighting’s new product line utilizes an array of filament-shaped LEDs and a special internal bulb coating to produce the same classic warm light.
Available in 3W and 4.5W LED bulbs, Forest Lighting has previously announced the development and release of several types of lighting styles, including bulbs with a blunt-tip and flame-tip candelabra base, globe bulbs, and A15 and A19 bulbs from the famous A-series of bulb designs.
In a press statement, Forest Lighting’s Chief Operating Officer, Jian Ni, stated: “LED filament bulbs are rapidly growing in popularity in the retail, hospitality, commercial and residential markets.” On the topic of the new product line’s features, he said: “They save energy and look great. And because our bulbs are affordable, customers can switch to LED lighting and stay within their budget.”
Forest Lighting first unveiled information regarding their new line of LED filament lighting solutions in April, at the annual LightFair International event, hosted in San Diego, California. The exhibition featured a long list of developing and developed technologies in the lighting and energy market, regarding power and lighting solutions for a variety of industries including exterior lighting, lighting in the healthcare and hospitality industries, digital signage and other marketing solutions, and alternative energy solutions such as solar power.
The new product line of LED filament light bulbs and lighting products is available with standard E12 and E26 bases. Although not entirely as warm as classic incandescent lighting, which ranged between 2,400K and 2,550K, color temperatures for the new products will be on the warmer side, ranging between 2,700K and 3,000K.
The bulbs will come with light intensity controls, allowing them be dimmable, and a three year warranty as well as a lifespan of an estimated 25,000 hours, versus 1,000 hours for classic incandescent bulbs. All products are given a Recognized Component Mark by the safety organization UL, and an Energy Star for energy efficiency.
