Lice Advice: Spread Hugs Not Bugs At Graduation
Lice Expert Pam Skinner, owner of Picky Pam at the Beach, a lice treatment salon in Huntington Beach has two words to prevent getting a case of head lice: buns and braids. “Lice don’t jump or fly. They are spread by head to head contact. They need a bridge or a ladder to get on a head, and a loose piece of hair flying around is perfect!” Skinner has a busy lice treatment salon, on busy days, she sees 30-50 people come through her shop. “There are so many beautiful braid hairstyles on Pinterest and Youtube.” They also have an extremely effective Preventative Lice Treatment Shampoo called “Cherry Bomb”. It is completely non-toxic and FDA registered. Lice can never develop a resistance because they kick out the same enzyme (protease), in their own system, when they molt. It’s using their own biology against them, we love it!”. Skinner has had over 12,000 people in her salon, in the last 3 years. Here are her top 5 tips to prevent a lice infestation:
1. Limit SELFIES! Braid or bun hair, if possible. Lice love to climb onto a nice, long, clean piece of hair.
2. Use Cherry Bomb Lice Prevention Shampoo ONCE A WEEK – on Wednesday.
Shampoo the non-toxic lice shampoo, once a week for 5 minutes, to kill and prevent a lice infestation.
3. Don’t buy Rid or Nix at the pharmacy - they are very toxic, and the combs are cheap and don’t work.
4. If a boy has lice – DON’T SHAVE HIS HEAD! Lice only need a millimeter of hair to lay eggs, when
parents shave their son’s head, it’s almost impossible for us to get the eggs off .
5. Only 50% of people with lice itch! It’s an allergic reaction, only half the population has the allergy.
