September 22, 2016 – Braman Motorcars announced today that Tiffany White has been appointed as head of the high-tech ‘Genius’ program for company’s BMW and MINI dealerships in West Palm Beach and the brand-new, state-of-the-art BMW dealership in Jupiter.White, who worked her way up the ladder from greeter in the service department, will supervise a staff of 6-8 Geniuses (and always on the lookout for new talent), as well as a comprehensive list of Genius programs, including training both customers and client advisers, hosting technology clinics and working with the Braman Motorcars marketing department.
“I was always interested in technology, majoring in engineering and computer science” says White. “Then I came to work for Braman and from the first time I heard of the Genius program I wanted to be part of it. I started learning everything I could about the cars, talking to everyone from client advisers to guys out in the service bays. One of the top salesmen took notice and helped me get my resume in front of the Sales Manager. That got me a spot on the Genius team – and now I have my dream job.”
Members of the BMW and MINI Genius team – all of whom go through a comprehensive factory training program -- are the public face of BMW’s ‘Modern Retailing’ initiative. This small group of highly-motivated, extremely knowledgeable men and women are responsible for developing a comprehensive knowledge of all the high-tech systems that are part of today’s vehicles, both BMW / MINI and competitive brands – and being able to communicate that knowledge to customers and sales personnel. This includes everything from the most basic tasks, like how to pair your smart phone to the car or operate the navigation and audio systems, to mastering more esoteric technology such as night-vision cameras, hands-off parallel parking and lane-departure warning systems, as well as high-performance options ranging from limited slip differentials to computer-controlled suspension.
“Because of how technical cars are these days, there’s a real need for technical people with social skills,” she says. “We Geniuses are usually the last dealership person that a customer talks to, and the job we do has a big effect on how they feel about their car once they get it home. We always tell them, if you can’t make it work right, it’s probably not broken; you’re probably just confused. So don’t get mad, get on the phone to a Genius; that’s what we’re here for.”
The BMW Genius program, growing now to include dedicated Geniuses at the Jupiter store and the new MINI dealership as well, also has frequent training sessions with BMW and MINI client advisers, hosts technology clinics and events and works with the marketing department. Geniuses also keep the Braman video production department busy shooting eight or more videos per month with Braman Brand Ambassador Celine Pelofi, each focusing on a customer 'hot button' issue.
“The Genius program is vital to our customer’s satisfaction with their new BMW or MINI and Tiffany is taking that program to the next level,” says Braman Motorcars General Sales Manager Steve Grossman. “We like growing our own talent and putting them in positions where they help lead this company into the future. And with the caliber of people that Braman Motorcars attracts, it happens quite often.”
