What is a landing page? A landing page is the website page that your targeted visitors see. In other words if you are targeting a city and pizza seeking customers - for example - then your landing page will be a page specific to that city and product. It can be any page designated on your website but is usually the home page - but not always especially if you need multiple landing pages. Here's a quick list of important features/characteristics your website landing page must have to convert visitors into actual prospects:
- Instantly tell the visitor what you are about - Pizza? Ok then the word pizza should be on the landing along with a nice pizza oriented image of some kind
- A "call to action" button or form - click on the button, go to a form to order product/service or to fill out prospect information so you can follow-up
- An incentive/offer - give them a reason to fill out a form whether it's a sale that is good NOW or coupon or newsletter or ... You need their information if you are are going to convert them into a customer later if not now
- Reduce turbulence - the initially visible part of the website landing page (above the fold) needs to be clean and simple with minimalistic picture/graphic, a clean form or button (to go to a form), and a title and sub-title that's to the point and makes the visitor an offer.
