Thomas Palfy, author of several travel-photo books, attended many courses of the Melbourne Camera Club to improve the quality of his images. He now teaches digital photography at the U3A Nunawading, Melbourne (Australia) branch. U3A is an organisation whose aim is the education of retired members of the community - those in the “third age” of life. This book is based on Thomas Palfy's class notes for his digital photography course at U3A.

The author and his wife have visited the area many times over the years, walked through its forests, climbed its mountains and visited its waterfalls.
