UNITED KINGDOM, 2015 – Data Plastics is known for being a name to contend with when it comes to the designing, tooling, manufacturing, assembling, and packing of injection-moulded parts in the UK. The company, after all, has more than 1,500 customers, each extremely satisfied with what Data Plastics has brought to the table. Apart from being a leader in various manufacturing processes for injection moulding, Data Plastics heavily supports those companies which have an eye and focus on innovation as well. And one of these companies is Sleeklight.
“Data Plastics is becoming increasingly known as ‘the place to go to’ for entrepreneurs, with a growing reputation for helping inventors get their ideas off the ground to turn them into marketable products. One highly successful company benefitting from such a meeting of minds is Sleeklight, a company now selling a range of lights internationally, all designed and manufactured in the UK,” Data Plastics proudly states.
The Managing Director (and visionary) behind Sleeklight, Mr. Nick Bailey, was once turned down by other companies. But upon approaching Data Plastics, Mr. Bailey was in for a pleasant surprise – the company showed enthusiasm for his ideas, and its very own team of design engineers began to work closely with him to transform the Sleeklight vision into reality.
In the process, Data Plastics made use of its 3D printing technology in order to construct a working model. With the 3D model created by Data Plastics and Mr. Bailey, the electronic components included in the products were tested and eventually perfected.
It is clear that 3D printing technology can be used in various ways to come up with a good testing ground for the development of various products, such as those created by Sleeklight. “With the design refined (thanks to 3D printing), tooling was manufactured and the Sleeklight went into production,” Data Plastics is quick to point out. And not only is the 3D printing service offered by Data Plastics affordable and budget-friendly – it is a low risk alternative to product development as well.
