David M. Bittle – Recipient of Various Awards and Medals

freePRnow.com, 1/27/2012 - David M. Bittle served on active duty in United States Coast Guard for over 24 years and he was retired in September 2011. Early in his career he was responsible for investigating oil and hazmat spills from ships and port facilities along with Hudson and East Rivers in NY. His last tour of duty from 2006 to 2011 was Chief of Security at the Base Support Unit in Boston, MA. His duties were to supervise and manage the overall USCG Security Program. He has been awarded with various honors and accolades.

During his service in the Coast Guard, David M. Bittle received the following: Coast Guard Commendation Medals (2), Coast Guard Achievement Medals (2), Coast Guard Presidential Unit Citation, DOT Outstanding Unit Award, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendations (5), Coast Guard Unit Commendations (5), Commandant’s Letter of Commendation (2), Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals (7). He was also the recipient of The Secretary’s Outstanding Unit Award for outstanding performance in New York Harbor following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. National Defense Service Medals (2), Humanitarian Service Medals (4), Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon (4), Expert Rifle and Expert Pistol Medals are some of the awards with which he has been honored with for his admirable performance.

David M. Bittle is experienced in supervising civilian, military and government agency personnel in emergency response, security and environmental disasters. He is a trained executive in Hazardous Materials/Oil Spill incident response with a proven ability to assess situations, analyze multiple courses of action, and execute prudent decisions. He is also a small arms instructor and has served as ordnance safety inspector for high explosive ammunition transfers.

Along with his professional works, David M. Bittle is passionate about fishing and he recently caught two tarpon in Florida. He holds a 100 ton captains license with a towing endorsement. Deer hunting and weight lifting are also his hobbies which he pursues with great passion. Presently, he is studying at the American Military University and planning to graduate with a BA in Homeland Security by July, 2012.
