Douglas Paul Farr is pleased to announce that he is currently celebrating the three-year anniversary since the awarding of his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Douglas Paul Farr graduated from the program cum laude in 2010, with an exceptional academic and extra-curricular resume that attracted the attention of the school’s faculty as well as employers.“Law school was one of the most challenging things I ever did,” commented Douglas Paul Farr, “but it was also one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I wouldn’t change a single thing about it, I don’t think.”
During his time at the J. Reuben Clark Law School, Douglas Paul Farr was involved in a number of organizations. He served as the President of the Student Bar Association, the Executive Editor of the BYU Journal of Public Law, and the 2010 Lead Note & Comment Editor for the BYU Law Review.
“I certainly spent a lot of time reading and writing,” commented Douglas Paul Farr. “Perhaps even more time than your average law student since I was involved with not one, but two, publications. Nevertheless, these opportunities on the editorial boards was extremely rewarding. There’s no better way to expose yourself to so many different types of legal scenarios and debates.”
In addition to leading an active life on campus, Douglas Paul Farr held three judicial and legal externships: one in the state of Utah, one in Nevada, and one in London, England. “I know three externships isn’t exactly the ‘norm’,” said Douglas Paul Farr. “However, I genuinely enjoyed each one of them, so I couldn’t stop myself from signing up for another and then another!”
Douglas Paul Farr served as a Judicial Extern to the Associate Chief Justice Matthew Durrant at the Supreme Court of Utah. He served as the Judicial Extern to Chief Judge Roger Hunt at the United States District Court, District of Nevada. Lastly, he worked as a Legal Extern at Devonshires Solicitors in London, England.
“They were all three very different experiences, which I’m thankful for,” said Douglas Paul Farr. Today, Douglas Paul Farr is celebrating his three-year anniversary with a successful career as a commercial litigation lawyer with Snell & Wilmer.
