Finance Bank Zambia is known as the bank for the common people. However, Simaata Simaata has been trying to defame this bank for a long time, especially after he was unceremoniously removed from the bank for engaging in unlawful activities. He had previously entered an agreement with Finance Bank for not disclosing sensitive statements and documents to anyone. For this, he was also paid a good sum by the bank. However, Simaata did not respect the agreement and made many disclosures that resulted in loss of reputation for the bank.

As a result of his activities, Simaata Simaata was sued by the Finance Bank at the Supreme Court of Zambia with support from Dr. Rajan Mahtani. He was charged with for illegally testifying against Dr. Rajan Mahtani & Finance Bank at various courts and at various occasions. He was also sued for providing confidential statements to local newspapers without the consent of bank or anyone. The Supreme Court found Simaata guilty of the charges and was asked to pay fine for his activities.

As per a local resident Paul, “Finance Bank Zambia is a good institution. We know it is supported by Dr. Rajan Mahtani and he is an honest businessman. The activities conducted by Simaata Simaata are a grave punishment and he was served rightly when the SC announced that he was guilty of the charges.”
