The Meaning of Looking into Past Lives - its Effect on the Present Life
It has been known in ancient cultures that our present life is inexorably linked to the past lives that we have lived on this planet. In modern days, this has been proved by hypnotic regression helping people to solve mental and physical ailments.

freePRnow.com, 6/23/2013 - Ancient cultures such as that of India and China (and perhaps some others too) had delved on the hidden truths of life based on intuitive awareness rather than on the judgment of the merely rational mind. Further, they were not blocked by emotional attachment to belief systems as it has happened in the last few centuries. A good example of this is the opposition from the religious people that astronomers Copernicus and Galileo had to face when they put forth and supported the heliocentric actuality of our solar system.

Around the sixth century BC, Buddha gave expressions to the truth of reincarnation. Even before him, many philosophic texts in India had talked about karma and rebirth. From the last century, the West has been paying a lot of attention to the fact that we live many lives on earth. Hypnotic regression is one of the main processes which have instilled confidence in the general public about the truth of reincarnation. However, there is still a lot of resistance from the religious and other circles in accepting it.

Understanding reincarnation, and not merely believing in it, has many advantages. As it is rightly said, one has to be neither a believer nor a non-believer to know the truth of an issue – especially if it is an esoteric issue. So, it would be good to pay attention to the various developments that have taken place regarding reincarnation from the time of Edgar Cayce in the early twentieth century. He was the first to publicly cure people’s problems in the US using hypnosis and studying their past lives. Known as “The Miracle Man of Virginia Beach”, his successes astonished medical authorities and the world.

In 1950, Dr. Gina Cerminara wrote a book entitled “Many Mansions” containing an account of Cayce’s healings. She tells how Cayce saw past the barriers of space and time, how he penetrated the previous lives of his subjects, and performed the fantastic cures and prophecies that made him the most remarkable clairvoyant in history. In her book, she covers many issues such as past life origins of mental abnormalities and vocational competence, marital problems, parents and children, personality dynamics, etc.

“You Have Been Here Before” is a book written by Dr. Edith Fiore in 1979. She conducted regression on people and helped them get out of their difficulties. The problems that her subjects faced ranged from fears and anxieties, insomnia, headaches and allergies. Under hypnosis, a sexually frigid woman recalled a tragic life as a slave girl in her past life; a man suffering from an inexplicable fear of heights recalled a violent ending from a fall during the Middle Ages. Just reliving those memories which formed the genesis of the present problem, those people got out of their maladies. This way of problem solving has changed people’s assessment of reincarnation, life after life and immortality with challenging evidence.

People who wish to expand their perspectives about life on earth would do well to study reincarnation and see how it can help them free themselves from being a mere conformist. Understanding the deeper issues of life alone can form the basis for a truly spiritual life; otherwise, in order to protect oneself from the fears of life, one would be forced to develop emotional attachment to some system which can only serve to push the fears under the carpet.
