Alexandria, VA - Whole Health Medical Center has partnered with the United States Patent & Trademark Office to provide its employees with wellness seminars and consultations.Since October, 2010, Whole Health has offered a series of wellness workshops presented as a lunch-and-learn program once a month for over 4500 employees of the Patent Office headquarters in Alexandria.
"Our Whole Health Wellness Seminars are designed to increase awareness and to provide practical and usable information about major health issues and risks," says Whole Health's Medical Director Dr. Owen Liao. "We are focusing on major chronic health issues: heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, just to name a few." These health issues are the result of the overweight and obesity epidemic in the country. Two-third of adults and nearly one in three children in the U.S. are overweight or obese, according to the U.S. Surgeon General’s 2010 Report.
Seminars topics included, “How to Ward Off Diseases Naturally,” How to Lose Weight Naturally,” Can Acupuncture Treat These Chronic Conditions,” “ Can Massage Improves My Health,” and followed by discussions on how alternative medicine like acupuncture can treat major chronic conditions such as high cholesterol, type II diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and stress with little or no side effects, how to ward off diseases by adopting a healthy and active life style and incorporating a natural plant-based diet along with exercise to improve a body's own self defense system.
