Kidd’s Home Hardware, a family-owned hardware business in the Almaguin Highlands area, is preparing to meet demand for fall hunting season by offering all the necessary Northern Ontario hunting equipment. The business has supplied its loyal customers, homeowners, cottagers, and outdoor enthusiasts, with quality products for many years. With the coming cold mornings, hunters have already started thinking about their camps and hunting equipment. Kidd’s Home Hardware wants to make that preparation simple, so no one heads out the door missing something they need. This happens to all hunters. You arrive at camp before daybreak and turn on the light, but it won't come on. Your headlamp stops working halfway down the path. Your boots, which looked good in September, leave your feet cold by mid-November. These little things can ruin your entire weekend, and in Northern Ontario, the nearest large-town hardware store may be an hour or more away. Kidd’s Home Hardware provides hunters with products to prevent such disappointments, from blaze orange clothes, gloves, and socks, to flashlights, knives, game bags, tarps, rope, and hand warmers. The store is also an extensive resource for Northern Ontario electrical supplies for hunt camps and cottages.
“Hunting season is something a lot of families here look forward to all year. Every fall, we hear the same story. Someone gets to camp and finds a light out or realizes their boots aren’t warm enough. We’d much rather help people sort that out before they leave town. Our team knows this area and this weather, so we can point folks toward gear that holds up out there,” said a spokesperson for Kidd’s Home Hardware.
In addition to hunting gear, Kidd’s Home Hardware provides Sundridge and the surrounding Almaguin areas with a variety of materials including plumbing hardware, paints, tools, appliances, camping equipment and seasonal items. The sales team consists of locals who know what it means to live in Northern Ontario, whether you're at home, at your cottage, or at camp. Most customers visit the store with a problem, not a list of products to buy, and the salespeople explain the options in clear terms.
