In addition to the aesthetic issue, which reflects the personality of whoever is in charge of the project, it should also be noted which type of floor is the most suitable for that space. It is common that, at this point, you are in doubt between two types of flooring: laminate flooring and vinyl flooring.
After all, what are the characteristics of each one?
What are the main differences between them?
That's what you'll learn later in the article and you'll be able to decide which one best suits your needs.
Composition of floors
One of the best known on the market, laminate flooring is visually similar to wooden carpeting.
It consists of industrialized wood veneers in different widths and lengths, composed of HDF (High Density Fiberboard or high density wood panel, in Portuguese) agglomerates.
The vinyl floor is made of an anti-allergenic PVC rubber.
The material is basically sold in three types: blankets, plates or rulers.
Floor installation
In terms of agility in installation, the laminate flooring stands out.
It is possible to place up to 50 square meters in just one day and use it the very next day.
The installation can even be done on an existing floor, such as ceramic or porcelain, as long as the base floor is well secured.

Laminate can be installed with glue or click, also known as a snapping system.
Vinyl, in turn, requires a rigorously level application site.
It is possible to apply it directly to the subfloor and other smooth surfaces, such as ceramics, but it is not recommended to install it on materials that can rot, such as wood and the laminate itself.
Differences between vinyl and laminate
Laminate stands out not only for its ease of installation, but also for the possibility of being dismantled and taken to a new environment.
As we have seen, vinyl has a more detailed installation, but it also has its advantages.
As it is more flexible, it is estimated that this type is up to three times stronger compared to laminate.
This means that it is the most effective in muffling footsteps, which is essential for a work environment, for example, where the movement of people is quite intense.

Stains, cleaning and values
In addition to being less noisy, vinyl is also less prone to scratches and stains (as long as it doesn't come into intense contact with the sun) and is slightly more resistant to water.
On the other hand, laminate, because of its wooden core, cannot be covered with water.
This does not mean, of course, that you should wet the vinyl floor at will.
It cannot be submerged and therefore is not recommended for rooms such as the kitchen and bathroom.
In terms of values, laminate flooring has a square meter slightly cheaper than vinyl.
