Hello everyone, instead of writing about wedding/event planning and DIY ideas, I would like to share something that I watched on 20/20 on Friday. Normally, I go out when there is no weddings/events to plan or proposals to write. I decided to stay home and watch this piece on, "Be the Change: Save a Life."
During this project's run, which will last for a year, the ABC anchors will be traveling to countries and continents to give us firsthand look at what is happening in these places. This episode will focus on places like Guatemala, Bangladesh, Africa, India, and more. In these countries and continents, the nominal income is less than one dollar a day for each family. Simultaneously, there will be feedback during the programs long run to see how much of a change they have accomplished.
After watching this episode, I decided that I wanted to be a part of this project. Life is not just about planning weddings/events, working to pay monthly bills or hanging out with friends to blow off steam and unwind. It is also about helping our fellow humans in making his/her life as easy as possible.
With the economy being in shambles, unemployment at an all time high and foreclosures happening every day, you might be asking, "who is helping me pay my bills?" or "who is going to take care of me and my family if something should happen to me?" These are the exact questions I asked myself and realized that my answers came from a selfish place within. I am not saying that I have money to give away. There are times when business is slow and there is nothing-forth coming; however, I still press on.
Amid these variables, I realized I am able to help if I wanted to. Besides, I said earlier that when I am not planning weddings/events or writing proposals, I usually hang out with friends. Therefore, the money I am spending frivolously when I hang out, I can use that money to donate. In this case, I decided to step up and donate my age for change.
Please donate your birthday [your age in dollar amount] to any of these countries/continents in need.
Before you make up your minds, I would like you to watch 20/20 (http://abcnews.go.com/Health/GlobalHealth/) on World Health and see what Diane Sawyers and her fellow cohorts has to say. Next, visit (http://www.saveonelife.net/sponser_a_child.php) to get more understanding on this project. Thereafter, join K'Mich Events, in our efforts in making this change possible for millions of people around the world.
Finally, let us make one of our New Year's resolutions "Be the change: Save a life" and let this resolution be a continuum that lasts a lifetime – Choose.Hope.Anticipate.New.Growth.Everday.
